Chocolate Pie

3 tablespoons baking cocoa
2/3 cup sugar
3 tablespoons flour
1 cup milk
3 egg yolks
1 teaspoon vanilla
9-inch pie shell, baked

Mix together cocoa, sugar and flour in saucepan. Add milk and stir well to make a smooth mixture, then add beaten egg yolks to mix well. Then turn heat on and cook over medium heat until thickened. Remove from fire and add vanilla to stir and pour into baked shell and top with meringue.

MERINGUE:
3 egg whites
1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
5 tablespoons sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla

Beat egg whites with cream of tartar until stiff. Add sugar gradually to egg whites, beating to blend in sugar. Spread over cooled filling to edges to seal. Brown in 350 degree oven for 13 to 15 minutes, or until meringue lightly brown.
